Lauren Posey is the Director of State Government Relations working in the Richmond office. Prior to joining George Mason University’s Government and Community Relations team as the Associate Director in 2022, Lauren was the Director of Advocacy for the American Chemical Society, leading the Society’s federal policy advocacy supporting Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Education in K-12, acquiring research funding for higher education, investments in career and technical workforce programs, and a robust global scientific research enterprise.
Lauren served as the Chair of the Board of Directors for the STEM Education Coalition, representing over 600 business, academic and nonprofit partners working to advance federal and state STEM legislation. Lauren currently co-chairs the education program committee on the Board of Trustees of the Chesterfield Education Foundation, supporting student, teacher and school programming in Chesterfield County, Virginia.
Lauren is a seasoned education policy expert and is committed to working with state partners to support the University’s outstanding and groundbreaking programs, partnerships, and community.
Lauren holds a B.A. in Political Science from Virginia Tech.
