Tyler Javonillo

Tyler Javonillo is the Assistant Director of State Government Relations working in the university’s Richmond office. Tyler works closely with the Director of State Government Relations to develop and execute strategies that promote relationships with key stakeholders and advance George Mason University’s goals and priorities across state government.

Immediately prior to joining George Mason University’s Government and Community Relations team in 2024, Tyler worked for the former Speaker of the Virginia House of Delegates in a number of capacities, including as Deputy Chief of Staff. During that time, he helped support the passage of legislation, assisted constituents in navigating state services, and synthesized complex policies for clear comprehension by decision makers and the public. Additionally, he has demonstrated experience in community organizing, fundraising, and event planning.

Tyler is a lifelong Virginian who holds a B.A. in Political Science from James Madison University. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with family and camping, especially in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Western Virginia.
