The university galleries frequently present exhibitions of painting, drawing, photography, printmaking, video art, computer imaging, and animation by students, faculty, and guest artists in the Fine Arts Gallery, Gallery 123 in the Johnson Center, and the Mason Hall Atrium.

Intercollegiate Athletics
Mason, a Division I member of the NCAA, sponsors intercollegiate teams in men’s baseball, golf, and wrestling; women’s softball, lacrosse, and rowing; and men’s and women’s basketball, cross-country, indoor and outdoor track and field, soccer, swimming and diving, tennis, and volleyball.

Recently released blockbusters, contemporary favorites, independent films, and much-loved classics are shown in the 300-seat Johnson Center Cinema Theater. Show times are Thursdays at 9 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays at 6 p.m. and 9 p.m., and Sundays at 6 p.m. Admission is $3 for general public; $2 for faculty, staff, and alumni with Mason ID/Alumni Discount Card; and free for students and up to one guest with current Mason student ID. The Patriot Center, Mason’s 10,000-seat sports and entertainment arena, located on the Fairfax Campus, is the venue for more than 140 sports, music, and family entertainment events each year, including the Mason Patriots basketball games.

The Patriot Center box office, open Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., is located in the Patriot Center, on the building’s west side. Tickets for Patriot Center events are available at all TicketMaster outlets.

The Vision Series is a series of lectures by top researchers, artists, and scholars from diverse disciplines. The lectures are free and held on the Fairfax, Prince William, and Arlington Campuses. Each lecture is followed by an informal reception with the speaker. Lectures are held during the academic year only.

The Hylton Performing Arts Center boasts two elegant, state-of-the- art performance spaces, the 1,123-seat Merchant Hall and the 240-seat Gregory Family Theater, along with support facilities to showcase music, dance, theater, and choral productions from across the community and around the world. The Hylton Center also features the Didlake Grand Foyer, the spacious two-story lobby, and on the second floor, the Buchanan Partners Art Gallery, featuring the work of local and regional visual artists.
