VA General Assembly Bill Tracking


During the 2017 General Assembly session, Mason will follow bills that could have an impact on the University’s operations. Members of the faculty and staff who have been designated to review bills that relate to their area of expertise are called Issue Advisors. The staff of the Office of State Government Relations communicate regularly with Issue Advisors as bills move through the legislative process, though it is the Government Relations Council which makes all final decisions on the official Mason position regarding all legislation.

Just above you will see a drop down box with a handful of categories of bills. Each page is populated with the list of bills the University is following in that area and their status from the end of the prior day.

Within each category, there are subgroups.  They are:

If you wish to see up to the hour status of any bill, you must visit the Commonwealth of Virginia’s Legislative Information Service to see your bills in their most recent form. If you would like to suggest that a particular bill be added to the list, please e-mail Sabena Moretz with the appropriate bill number and why it is of interest to Mason.
